Now that I'm not using MIDI to control maxMSP, my Arduino input is 1024 (vs 127). I was thinking of setting the gain slider in max to 1024 steps to map the incoming controller data but I suspect that I need to adapt the Log Increment and the Log Scale Value too. Any suggestions?

if you need to do nonlinear stuff AND scaling to a range, it is best to

scale down to 0. 1., distort, then scale to desired output range.

i would never touch the gainslider object as it makes things only

more complicated, and i dont see why you would need to distort

the range (or is that log stuff coming from your hardware?)
