sfplay problem

sfplay problem

im using max 4.5 and ive made a patch that chops up a sample into various ques using the preload method, but the thing is that when i play it back, theres little clicks and pops every time i play a que, and im going to be using this at high resolutions sometimes so i really need it to be clean sounding. what is causing this problem?

Have a look at the [grooveduck] abstraction which is included in the standard max distribution, it will automatically fade in and out at the beginning and end of samples to remove clicks like the ones you are experiencing. You can find it from Extras > ExamplesOverview and then in the MSP tab under Sequencing/Looping.

ok, but how do i use it, theres no help file for it and no tutorials on the internet.
