(Sharing is… Complex) A generator of complex sequences for function

March 27, 2013 | 10:03 pm

Thought I'd share this with you all. I designed it to generate complex rhythmic patterns for function. Flick through the presets and play with the controls, you should get the idea. I've not used it for anything specific yet, but it could be used for creating envelope data or even waveforms. The output is set between 0. and 1. but you could scale this to whatever you like then poke~ it into a buffer~ perhaps. I'm really interested in any ways you see this could be useful, but am also up for any feedback on my patching; how would you have approached this? Are there any simple things I could have done better or more efficiently? How could this be improved… the odd/even curve thing could be better I think.

Thanks,

Mark

This is great! I think it’s has a good user interface as i figured it out really fast, that’s rarely the case :)
Thanks alot for sharing it, great work.

Super cool. Seems useful for all kinds of things. Thanks for posting.

here’s something to sonify the function; just filtered noise but sounds good…

obviously my little add-on could be improved upon… but fun nonetheless

Thanks all, I hope it becomes useful.

@Terry: That is indeed good fun. Yesterday I sketched together a rough phase modulation example with an envelope each for parameter. It’s starting to sound interesting but still needs work, so I’ll post it when I get the chance.
