Hi all,

I forgot I was playing with this until I saw someone else working on the same thing… Its not perfect or pretty, but I thought I might share and see if it helps those looking for a different database. It still needs ALOT of work, but the basic functionality is there…

The patch is an “aware” (used loosely) database… it:
1. Creates a database file and stores its databases with in it automatically
2. Has the ability to move around… where you put the folder is where it goes and store its data
3. Uses audio files from anywhere on your CPU or jumpdrive. One database can be one folder, the next could be somewhere completely different.
4. Records to a record file (also automatically created), with name generation some you don’t have to deal with it.
5. Has a silly poly interface

…and probably some other things. 98% of this comes from things I found in the forums, so thank you to all of you on the forums that help us out.

There is a little trick to getting use to this patch right now, but I think its a pretty good proof of concept. Not sure if I will do more with it, not much use to me personally… but really fun to build.

I am sure Andrew or someone else has a much more elegant way to do this

With classes starting back, I can’t promise I can help if you have problems, but I can try. Sorry.

Advise and upgrades are always welcome
Enjoy!

Interesting, I’ve never even heard of SQLite. How fast are DB connections in JS? So far, I’ve only just used the mxj objects in max for databases. You could also just use a regular MySQL database to get rid of the saving, but you would need to set it up.

But it looks like a cool app, even though I don’t really have any use for it right now . Thanks!
