sorry, forgot to mention you’ll need the cnmat package, i did it on os x not sure if it’ll work on windows,,

I’ve got all the objects, but don’t have a clue how the patch works or what it’s meant to do! What ranges of values do you recommend for the x and y inputs? Looks interesting though, I’m a big fan of the CNMAT stuff, but never managed to use bessel in a patch yet.

ahh, it’s all a matter of trial and error really.
the niters parameter on the far right is the number of iterations, i usually keep it between 3 – 6 (more iterations produces more ‘partials’)
the two number boxes in the middle are "coarse" frequency control, adjust them to your pleasing,
you can probably see the the volume controls for the x/y parameters down the bottom, i scaled them between 1 and 0, best not to have it too loud as it will distort and not sound pleasing,
the x and y parameters up the top act as "fine" frequency controls,
press the ‘random’ button up the top to set it all in motion,
sometimes there’s a drastic change, sometimes there’s hardly any (it’s based on chaos after all),
as i said it’s just a matter of trial and error, set it in motion and adjust to your hearts desire,
basically set the right parameters and you can sit and listen to very slowly oscillating harmonic sine drones,
quite pleasing on some occasions
i was going to put some envelopes in but not got around to it,,
sorry i can’t be more help,

If you could provide some basic presets, the sharing would be successful …

Presets????

You guys – the guy made an awesome patch. You’re supposed to take it and mess with it until you find something that it does that’s interesting [increasing the possibility that it won't be what I'm finding as a benefit]. What on earth ever happened to your sense of fun and adventure?

This is pretty darned cool.

Okay master,
the guy offers his work and It is absolutely fantastic, but I can’t seem to do it working.

It is because I am just a newbie.

Should I rack my brain until I discover that a little hiden bang needed to be activate or a simple gentle question without any truculence would be the best way in such a situation?

Thank you.

hi,
thanks for the good comments,
sorry, there’s not likely to be any presets ever,
it’s really not that hard to get the hang of,
below is another version with comments where they relevant parameters are,
can’t seem to edit my above post,
keep your volume down at first cos the bass is pretty rich sometimes,
just play around, you’ll get the hang of it,,

Ok, thank you to consider my request.
Unfortunately nothing appears for me here.

hi,
not really sure what you’re saying.
what you posted works ok for me,,

January 29, 2010 | 12:03 am

Yep. It works just fine. I think that he expects you to tell him what numbers to type into the number boxes [which rather ruins the fun]….

January 29, 2010 | 1:02 am

yeah, thats the whole point really ;-)

It seems [sinusoids] does not want the amp before the frequency …
I would be curious about how did you achieve to get this patch working without correct this.
