[sharingisfun opportunity] pecha kucha plug…

hi,

I just presented some work at this event in San Francisco last night:
http://www.pechakucha-sf.com/
20 slides, 20 secs. each.
It a really great forum to get out and explain what you are doing, and chat with people who are interested. I highly recommend doing it, for whatever your project. Getting a spot to present is not too hard – an email about what your project is is pretty sufficient, it seems, and as long as you are doing something interesting, you’re in. These events are held in cities around the world:

The audience was pretty big (100+), receptive, and has a number of people who would never know you otherwise. What more could you ask for? :)

I went, and have to second the opinion that it is a pretty amazing
event. I’m definitely going to try to present at one.

Peter, I’m really sorry I missed this(I tried). Is any part of your presentation on the web?

barry – I think we’ve met, probably at Recombinant or something, right? i bet you have 400secs of something to say!
cegerlt – a good idea! here:

I had to delete a couple of slides, but all other images are there, and my comments (tried to be true to what was actually said) adjoin. 20 secs is very short, so comments are brief!

Yeah, I believe at RML. I think I remember standing around talking to
you and Ali Momeni and Keith McMillen at the Curtis Roads show. Or some
such.

Yeah, I could probably fill 400 secs. Just not necessarily with
anything interesting. It is an interesting thing to have to present
work in music without being able to present the actual music very well.

It think it is actually pretty amazing to watch people screw up because
it moves so fast. That plus a beer makes this an A+ event. Actually,
I’m an easy date, all I need is the beer.
