I am doing a sound installation with a Mac-Mini. [MACOSX 10.5.]

and I like to shut down the computer every evening manually –

but without keyboard and without monitor!

is there a smooth way ?

It’s fine to just turn of the power. If you select in the Energy Saver pref panel to restart after a power failure and put your patch or standalone in the startup items, everything starts up automatically after turning on power in the morning.

… Unless your patch happens to write to the disk a lot, in which case killing power could end badly.

You should be able to use the [shell] object (check maxobjects.com) to hook a button up to a ‘shutdown’ script, though.
