let's say i have a multislider with 500 sliders. I need to move EVERY slider but ONE. How would it be possible apart from making a message with $1 $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8 $9 etc excluding the one i need to keep out of it ?

You can use [zl nth] with the "nth" being the slider you don't want to move. The outlets will give you both the nth value and the list-without-nth-value. If you send this directly, the multislider will adjust the size to 499 values, so you'll need to put the original nth value back into the list, which you can do with the extra argument to [zl nth] I believe.

So you're still "moving" all of them, but you ensure that the one you want steady simply has the original value, and the other ones are the changing ones. Possibly you can do this just with the substitute message to [zl nth] directly.

You also might need to give the optional first argument to [zl] to allow enough sliders, if the default is less than 500... can't remember if it's 256 or 512.

"all but one" sound like a job for [route], without arguments, so that you can do "set 77".
