hi all,

i’m working on an installation that i plan to optimise as much as possible according to the info at:

http://abstrakt.vade.info/?p=147

part of the installation is a single error subtitle which is sometimes displayed over the video. at the moment I use [jit.lcd] drawing over [jit.window].

soon i will optimise the patch and use videoplanes with the colormode set to uyvy. I am wondering if there is a more optimized method than invoking the text renderer each frame and converting the colormode somehow.

could i load a png image file of the subtitle with a transparent background and layer that over the videoplane texture somehow? or would I need to use another videoplane?

any help greatly appreciated.

use jit.gl.text2d over a jit.gl.videoplane for hd subtitling.
