This is probably straight forward for an experienced MAX developer but I do not quite know where to start.

What I need is a metro or similar that outputs bang in a Sinus curve manner. I.e the bangs are slow in the beginning and gradually increases to quicker and quicker before it reach the top and then becomes slower and slower again and then it all repeats.. Any suggestions on a good way to do this. Maybe I can use [cycle~]?

Maybe something like this. Use low frequencies for cycle~.

Cool trick, that made me discover [trunc~] but mostly the [change~] object I had already encountered but underestimated !

Thanks for the advise. I have looked into the suggested patch and please correct me if I am wrong but I suspect this will not give a "sinus style" bangs. If I use the default value of 10 for the [*~] From what I can se it gives the following output

1->"bang",2->"bang",3->"bang",4->"bang",5->"bang",6->"bang",7->"bang",8->"bang",9->"bang",10->"bang",

As I understand it the time between each bang is constant between 1 and 20 and then there is a break before it goes down to 1 at a constant interval again and you get a new break at 0. Correct?

I looked again and took some elements from your patch Dave and modified it with a few things I knew and I think I maybe have a suggestion that works?..

I would replace metro with phasor~. I think that makes the output more fluently.

this is how I'd do it. No audio involved. Bonus: Syncs to your transport.

That's way better. No need for signal domain processing.
