Sony Puppy fingerprint reader with "hi" object

April 7, 2006 | 4:53 am

Has anyone tries the Sony Puppy fingerprint reader with Max yet?

Im very interested to try it out, but Im wondering if anyone has mapped
thing out or not.

or if it even works with the hi object, though I would assume it would….

Thanks,

Anyone?

I can get one really cheap, I just dont want to do something dumb, like installing the security software and never be able to use my computer properly again.

I have NO interest in the security features of this device, I want to take the input fingerprint info and reassign the incoming data to effect my music someway or another.

Im very interested in the possibilities, just dont want to waste money, or shut myself out from my computer.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,

If I had to guess whether or not it would work with the hi object, I’d
probably guess not.

why not?

care to elaborate on what drew you to this conclusion?

its a USB device, why wouldnt it be recognized? my PS2 controller is
recognized, and its going through some cheesy converter.

usb pointing devices (i’m guessing a controller is one of them) transmit
different types of messages. i doubt, although i’m not sure, that the Puppy
would transmit the same. my Griffin powermate doesn’t either – bit of a pain
really.
