Sound lag

on the computers at my uni I have no issues. Everything works fine.
When I use my home computer (Windows XP) when I turn on the audio - it lags. you hear audio for a split second then half a second later you hear again...

it doesn't make sense cause when I use jitter movie thing - it has no lag at all

ZOMG! HELP@!@!

Will probably need a bit more information about this, such as: What Sound Card are you using, what are your PC specs, how large is your patch, what is the sample rate, vector size, signal vector size etc.

I am assuming that you are running the same version of Max on both machines?

Kind regards,

I guess my sound card is Realtek HD Audio output or NVIDIA High Definition Audio I'm not sure

my PC specs are
* OS: Windows XP
* CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad cpu Q6600 @2.40 GHz
* RAM: 3.25 GB
* HDD: 63.4 GB left (465 GB)
* Graphics: GeForce GTX460 768 MB
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9

I don't know how large the patch is but usually I work with small patches. And yes they are both running Max 5.1 I believe.

Some people report better results running with the ASIO4All driver.

Also, are you sure that your DSP settings in Max are the same between your two machines?
