My Project uses [groove~] and [buffer~] to play MP3-files.

On machine A there is a problem: [groove~] will only play the [buffer~] after a [jit.qt.movie] object has played ANY file.

On another machine B this problem never occurs.

Am I doing something wrong? - Is it a problem with any of the components I am using? - Can I fix it? - Can the Max Crew fix it?

I got my project completed, but now I am running it on another machine and all of a sudden it does not play any sound any more!!!

I remember that when I was creating the application on that machine the problem occurs on (let's call it machine alpha), I previously had Max installed there but I moved on to another computer now (let's call that one machine beta), that I was facing the same problem but by accident found a solution to it:

I embedded a [jit.qt.movie] component and I just let it play a one second tone at the very beginning of the application (loadbang + MP3-file)

once the [jit.qt.movie] had played ANY file, from that moment on for the whole Windows session (!) even when I closed and reopened Max completely and had the [jit.qt.movie] deleted from my project, it would always work and the [groove~] object I originally intended to use would always play whatever I would load into the [buffer~] assigned to it.

...now this all happened on machine alpha and after a while I moved on to machine beta... While I finished my work on the application on machine beta I found out that I was not facing this problem any more...

(I basically created a subpatcher and this one from scratch... so I didn't have the [jit.qt.movie] in that subpatcher project ever, when I integrated the subpatcher into my original project I realised that the whole [jit.qt.movie] hot fix was apparently obsolete.)

...so I deleted the hot fix out of my project and it was just working fine on machine beta and this in every way.

...Now I am working on an external project on machine alpha again and I am integrating the Max application I created into it. But: The problem is back!!!

... I really don't know where the problem is or if it is just something the Max people have to fix. I would be very thankful for every idea or answer you could suggest here. Thanks.
