I have been working on this patch for the last week straight and it suddenly wont work any longer.
It was working fine until one day, randomly.
when I open the patch it will immediately hang before anything is activated.
I tried to comand-shift on startup to bypass the loadbang as I had read in another post but had no success.
It is not a very difficult patch but I just cant figure it out.

black macbook
Max 5

If you can get it working, can you re-save it and send it back?

I have been frantic trying to get this to work again.
thanks in advance.

I think the entire problem is coming from the Serial object.

In new patcher windows, even typing “serial” will freeze max.

this is really frustrating, Unless there is some way to disable this before max opens the patch, Im stuck.

Once a patch opens that contains the serial object, it freezes. I cant change a thing.

in regards to the serial object,

have you saved anything named “serial” in your search path? I made a similar mistake and it gave me some trouble.

for anyone who cares to know…

My problem was fixed outside of max.
Turned out the only serial objects corresponding to my bluetooth GPS were crashing max. I deleted the link in system preferences and re-paired the device.

after that, everything was all coo.
