Standalone copy problem

May 17, 2007 | 10:35 am

I’ve searched the forum and I’m picking up an earlier thread (Re: 4.6.1 Standalone Build Problem [message #79592 is a reply to message #79589 ]), but haven’t seen the solution.

MaxMSP 4.6.2, PB G4, OS 10.4.9.

I build a standalone to the boot partition, and it runs. But when I try to copy it to another partition or to an external firewire disk (to move to another machine for testing/distribution), I get:
‘The alias "MaxAPI" cannot be copied to the destination, perhaps because the destination does not support this type of alias.’

I still have MaxMSP 4.5.7 on the same system. Is that a problem?

P.S. I’d really like to build the app on a different partition, but there’s the "executable bit" problem. Is this explained in the regular documentation? Unix’ intestines are way beyond the "artist user" for whom Max is usually so great.

Many thanks.
Neal

standalones should do exactly that, standalone… so somethings weird… but, I am sure you already knew that.
