Standalone Problem -one more

November 13, 2006 | 6:55 pm

Hello List,

I just happen to find out that I am no longer able to build standalones
on an Intel Mac. I did so before for several times with (kind of) the
same patch. It seems that the runtime is unable load some abstractions
and picture files. It also looks like the same abstractions are
sometimes loaded and sometimes not.

Building the standalone on a mac PPC does work, however i can’t use it
on the Intel Mac afterwards (same problem). I think that I am aware of
the fundamental rules of standalone building

I do not have a second Intel Mac to test if this is a computer issue or
has something to do with max msp 4.6.2.

Maybe someone has a hint.

Max 4.6.2, Jitter 1.6.2, Mac Pro 2×2.66 Dual Core

Thanks. John.

this is the error message in the max window:

Hello,

maybe Intel mac’s are non smoker computers?

Or more certainly, the object
lp.scampf.mxo

is not built as universal.
Just do Information on it from Finder to see it it’s the case

Regards
Chris

The interesting question is how in blazes anyone got a non-UB .mxo
copy of scampf.

In John’s case, because he and I work together on realiTV and related
projects, it does happen that he sometimes does find obscure versions
of Litter Power on his hardware. But even the development versions
should run on the development architecture, which _is_ Intel in this
particular development lab.

I have found one very old build (creation date 10 July 2006 16:55,
mod date 12 July 2006 0:19), which seems not to load in Max. John: if
this is what you have, you should replace it with scampf from the
latest beta distribution. If difficulties should still persist,
please contact me.

There are still a number of other error messages posted by John’s
standalone that seem unrelated to the skimpy scampf.
