Stealth Maestro

Hi there, I've been cruising the tutorials and forums, and i think my problem is just basic enough that nobody talks about it - merely assumes that it is just known. However, I'm afraid I simply do not know how to connect my brand spanking new USB Mic into Max MSP.

Would somebody please make me the simplest of simple patches just to get my mic to respond to the program, and I can learn everything else from there? Thanks!!

You should start reading on page 26 of "MSP46TutorialsAndTopics.pdf" and keep going until you find something relevant. The instructions are going to be specific to the vendor of the device, and the operating system, which we don't know.

My situation here is that i'm using campus computers where the software is installed but the instruction pdfs are not present... presumably with the staff here.

If there is anyone who has experience with a Samson Q1U USB Mic... I would be forever in your debt if you could drop me a hint.

1) Lodge a complaint with your instructor, lab admin, etc. that you can't friendly find the friendly manual.

2) Download it from the friendly website:

3) Seriously, go to the "Options" menu and select "DSP Status". Some of the settings under "Driver" and "Input Device" are probably what you need.

Your USB mic is likely to need drivers no? Check in System Preferences (forth item in Apple menu) -> Sound to see if it shows as an input. If it doesn't you'll need to talk to a sys admin prolly.
