Storing numbers

Hello,

Sorry for the stupid question, but my brain is tired…

I’d like to take the integer output of two clicks on a kslider, store the first in one integer object, and store the second in another integer object. The third click would start the process over again. I know there’s a way to do this, but I’m a little rusty.

Thanks,
Brennon

Sorry…can’t seem to figure out how to post Max 5 patches on the forum as everyone else is doing. The output is so different from Max 4 when using Open as Text. I’ve attached a patch to the post–if this isn’t how I’m supposed to be doing it, please let me know.

This is what I’ve come up with to solve my problem, but it seems so clunky. I seem to recall that there is an object that takes care of most of the logic here. Does any one know what I’m talking about, or am I just crazy?

Thanks,
Brennon

Thanks, you two! Wow, I really was trying too hard… For the record, how do I get that encoded text output for posting in the forums, as opposed to attaching the patch file itself?

Just select what you want and Copy Compressed from the edit menu.

‘copy compressed’ and just paste into an email or the forum. it’s text.

Change to 2 if you want behavior like jan.jdo or leave as 3 for behavior like stefantiedje.
