I have made a pretty complex patch (for me), which uses poly~. I’ve noticed that the patch eats up about 80% of the CPU upon launch. After some looking around, I found that the cause is that the 25 voices I have assigned to poly~ all seems to be active.

However, after playing a lot of random notes, so that every poly~ voice gets muted after it’s finished playing, the CPU goes down to around 0.5 or 0.6%.

How can I make all voices mute upon launch of the patch?

Yes they are active :( and i dont know why .
all you should do is to [loadbang] a massage [mute 1] to [thispoly] . so it can close those unused voices at initialization process .

It’s well documented in the reference for ~poly. Just put a loadmess mute 1 in the patcher and you should be fine!
