I have been a maxmsp user for a number of years and every once in a great while there is sudden strange behavior with playing back some live sampled material from a buffer~ object. Playback from the buffer~ object (using play~) is transposed up almost a whole step.

I use my live sample and playback patches extensively in performance, so 99.99% there are no problems with my playback. When this unexplained transposition occurs, it happens across my entire array of buffer~ and related play~ objects in my network of patches and sub-patches. My buffer length settings are fixed in the programming as is the line info for reading the buffer in the play~ objects.

Is there something that I might be inadvertently reconfiguring in buffer definitions or the sampling rate?

Note: when I open another patch with similar record/buffer/play configurations, it is ok. When I go back to the original problem patch, the problem is fixed. Any ideas?
