Stutter patch

October 25, 2007 | 12:02 am

Hello,

I am a total noob at Max, but all I really want to learn is how to get microphone input through a stutter patch and out through my speakers. Can someone please explain it to me?

Best strategy would be to read ‘Max46Fundamentals.pdf’ then do some max tutorials, work your way to some msp tutorials.
Set your goals, draw a plan, go back to doing tutorials until you figure out how to do it yourself!

It’s not that hard and it will take a few nights of coffee, patching and reading, but getting there on your own is a lot better than simply letting someone do the work for you. There are many variations and examples of ‘stutter’, ‘gate’ patches and there are so many ways to do it.

What I notice on this list is a lot of people asking people to explain them things within max, which is what a mailing list is for. But learning max is different, you simply don’t by asking someone to show it to you. Even if you have, I had a number of classes, you’ll get there fast and you’ll have a lot of good ideas and assignments to work with, but you still need to spend hours and hours behind a computer patching and reading. That’s all, I guess anybody can do it, the tutorials cover all you need for a long time to come!

Enjoy.

Copy and paste the code below into a new Max window. Thanks for the interesting diversion.
