Subtracting string values from each other ?

Hi,

I am building a Max/Jitter application that monitors a folder for incoming text files, whenever a new text file arrives it sets off an action in Jitter. I also want to open the latest text file and parse in some of it’s data.

At the moment I am using the folder and strcmp objects to compare the contents of the directory, so that I know when each new file arrives.

Now I want to subtract “folder string A” from “folder string B”, so that I can get the name of the latest text file on it’s own.

Is there an object I can use to get the difference between the 2 strings?

Thanks!

Hi John,

Take a look at the mjx list package stuff, especially [mjx.list.Unique].
