Hi,

I’m just messing around with a patch to change parameters on a synth, and have reached a point where ideally i need to use sysex messages. I have no idea how to send one, and the messages i get in the max window seems to bear no resemblance to the raw message i get in the MIDI Monitor application.

for example, changing one particular parameter on the synth gives me this from the [sysex] object:

print: 240
print: 66
print: 48
print: 88
print: 65
print: 114
print: 0
print: 1
print: 0
print: 247

but the raw message appears to be this:

00 F0 42 30 58 41 72 00 01 00 F7 | B0XAr |

and i have no idea which to use if i wish to send that parameter change back out of max, or even how to do so.

if anyone could give me some assistance I’d be grateful!

thanks,

robin

Just so you know, they are exactly the same set of data but one is in hexadecimal, you can set [number] to display in hex using the “format” attribute. I hope that clears things up a bit.
