I have just installed max/msp 4.6 and would like to use the tap.tools objects that I was using in 4.5. Would someone give me a simple blow-by-blow instruction on where to put them in the 4.6 folders?

Thanks.

Hi Anne,
put them anywhere in your search path.

for 3rd party externals, I keep a folder inside the maxmsp folder
named "3rd", in which I put all externals,
their help files included. In fact, insie the ’3rd’ folder I keep one
folder for each collection of externals.
So I have an Lobjects folder, a jasch folder, a tap.tools folder etc.
Then I add the path to the ’3rd’ folder using menu ">Options >File
Preferences".

you have to exit and restart max to let the new search path take effect.

Jennek,

There was one more detail that kept the objects from showing up in 4.6 and that was that the .shlb file needed to be moved to the library/CFMsupport folder.

Thanks for your help.

You’ll need to download a new version as the old one won’t work with
4.6 no matter where you put it. Then, just run the installer.

Anne
I am glad you worked it out.
The problem was somewhat more complex than I got from your initial
message.
