Technician job at our studio.
Not sure if this is the right etiquette, but anyway, here goes.
We’re looking for someone to join our studio as a technician.
Having done some projects in Max before, it feels like similar skills and interests are needed for what we are doing.
We previously put this job up on some other sites, but we’ve just got loads of CV’s from people who want to be editors and directors. We want someone who can tame our temperamental video network, organise our data, and then get on with helping us sort out big-scale visuals projects.
I’ve got to emphasise that this is a technical role. We’re looking for someone who is really into the nuts and bolts of making complex visual and lighting systems work like magic.

ML Studio a visual design studio focusing on live shows, music and events seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic IT & Video Technician.
Based in Bethnal Green, London ML Studio is growing their team with this new role. The successful candidate will love music and new technology, have a deep understanding of video and servers and be focused, organised and outgoing. As the studio’s technician, you will be responsible for the successful management of the studio’s new video server system and all associated networking and equipment. The role is dynamic and challenging as you will be working on large scale live tours, and be part of technical set ups on site and for events. We are interested in candidates who have a background in video production and or lighting design.
The role is suitable for a recent graduate who has technical experience with computers, video and live environments and is keen to grow and learn. You will need to be methodical, organised and self-motivated and be able to relate well to the rest of the team. Knowledge of the following is essential:
Experience with movie compression / file conversion
Video files / formats and management for an editing & motion graphics environment
Further interest and knowledge in the following is favoured:
Programming (processing / c++ /open frameworks)
Final Cut Pro
Midi / Lighting Desk Experience
Operating Systems and software
Manage Client media files
Maintain ftp or file sharing site
Project Back Ups
Studio computer maintenance
Manage sever and network
Manage website / youtube/ vimeo accounts
Building and testing playback computers and control systems
Building test files and projects to check equipment.
Packing and labeling equipment that goes out on jobs
Test and build playback systems.
Building pixel maps for LED screens and projectors
SALARY is dependent upon the applicant, the job is a full time role.
