Text completion not working?

January 13, 2012 | 7:16 pm

I can't figure out if this is something awry with my system, or a change in behavious with the new interface…

In a blank patcher, I type 'n', then type the two letters 'da' in an attempt to make dac~, for instance. The only option which comes up under 'Text completion' is 'datatype', which is part of the jasch library?! (See screenshot) Similarly, typing almost anything, say 'co' to try to get a 'coll' shows me no text completion but forty-five 'Name matches' for a bunch of externals.

Is this intended behaviour, or do I have something awry here?

Hi there,

What version of Max are you running? What OS? What computer model?

Does this continue to be a problem after a few minutes after starting Max?

Do you have any custom search paths? If so, what are their full paths?

Max 6.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Problem is persistent, doesn’t go away after a few minutes. I had one custom path set, which used to be to snowy://Applications/Max6/max externals where ‘snowy’ is my boot drive, and with subfolders ticked. However, I’ve now moved any externals and helpfiles I had in there to locations inside Applications/Max6/Cycling ’74, and deleted that path. Problem still exists.
