texture @mode attribute

February 12, 2006 | 9:02 pm

Hi, what’s the @mode attribute for in jit.gl.texture? It’s undocumented and
I can’t find it in the archives either. I’d like to know the difference
between dynamic and static. Thanks.

Currently this only has impact on Macintosh. With dynamic textures,
we make use of some settings to reference the image from RAM, hinting
to the OpenGL driver to not transfer the memory and allocate an on-
card texture resource. This might be supported in a future PC release.
