i am doing a installations based on a mac pro with

8 vga outputs. for better performance i have one application

now i want to use 1 videoinput in all 4 applications.

is it possible to grab the input once and share the texture

is it possible to grab the input once and share the texture
between the 4 applications.

i think you're only option for "sharing" would be to use jit.net.send/recv to pass the video matrix to each of the apps.

i understand why you want to create 4 separate apps, but it might be worth doing some performance testing with one app. you would still need 4 separate opengl contexts, but at least you could share your video input matrix with each of them.

however, the jit.net.send/recv might work better. only way to know is to test it out.

i will test, if one app uses my 8 cores effectively.

in my experience it is better to split the jobs into seperate apps.

i also found a solution with 4 apps with one jit.qt.grab

inside each application using the manycam application.
