This is probably a really stupid question but…..

Hi, I’ve just started using MaxMSP for my final year at university and whilst I’m loving what capabilities I’ve seen so far with the program, I’m struggling with a few things….which are probably really basic, so please excuse me for asking potentially dense questions here

I’m currently writing a patch that (at the moment) will allow me to trigger audio by pressing keys on a keyboard.I have the basis of this patch which works if I click on the toggle box but cant seem to get it linked up to switch on and off using a keyboard.

Does that make sense??

I will add the text version of my file for anyone who is willing to help me with this!!

Also, eventually this will be linked up to be controlled by an xbox 360 controller. Ive been told that I need to get hold of a program called junction to make this possible, does anyone where to get this from??
Thanks for your help

For free you can use the awesome driver for xbox360 controllers
written by Colin Munro.

it can be found here:

http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller

The controller with then be accesable with the [hi] object.

njoy.

try this too — I think it’s better than using ASCII, and it also shows sprintf which can be very very handy for some things. -CJ
