tips for recording max midi peformance dircetly to audio

hi everybody,

simple thing - recording a max midi performance to audio (frustrated that seq object does not preserves pgm changes when writing midi file) semms not to be possible in windows.
while soundflower works great on mac, a jack2 audio router for windows does not work at all and i could not find any alterbative to it...

so my question would be:

- is there any proper way to do it on windows?
- is there any midi external object that preserves pgm changes when writing midi file? (seq itself plays the pgm-s as recorded, but does not save this info with midi file)

thanks in advance for any help, my despaired stuednt as well..
:-)
yours,
reso

Not free, but this does work:

try [detonate] for more complete MIDI recording in Max. There's no graphical editor for it in Max 5, but I've heard rumors that it's in the works... can't WAIT if that's the case! That will kick things up a huge notch...any news on that one??

The Virtual Audio cable seems cool, but would it let you grab MIDI from Max and turn it into audio? That would be very useful. Actually, having a converter external right in Max would be even better... feature request? Maybe it's a new mode of [noteout] which points it to a named buffer~.

And maybe that's way too difficult, I have no idea...

jesse and sseya,
thanks for your replies,
i tried both jack2 and vac(demo), jack works with a treeible audio quality,
so i advised my student to record the whloe thing with some exteral recorder...

really nice feature request for noteout-to-buffer~-recording...

as for detonate, but never used its all extra features, ill check it out...

thanks again and kind regards,
