The issue I’m experiencing concerns simultaneously using multiple [jit.qt.grab] and [cv.jit.grab] objects for different cameras. When all four of these devices are connected and I’ve sent an ‘open’ message to an grabber, I select can select device in the ‘settings’ menu but it won’t get any video from the device (I might be able to get a maximum of two simultaneously before the problem starts.)

I have successfully used all four devices simultaneously before, when connecting connecting to my iMac’s built-in USB ports. Now that I’m on-site setting up this installation, I’m using a powered USB hub with my MacBook. I can use all three of the webcams simultaneously but having the Kinect in the mix makes the problem return.

I will note that I had a similar issue to this before when running all three of the webcams at their maximum resolution simultaneously (640*480) on my iMac, and solved that problem by changing to 320*240 for each.

Is it just too much for my MacBook? I’m due to be borrowing a mac Mini in time for the exhibition.

Am I just trying to take into too much data?
