TouchOSC – Rhythm game

December 3, 2009 | 2:19 pm

Hey,

For a project at uni I’m trying to create a musical rhythm game (similar to Guitar Hero) using MaxMSP and TouchOSC. Just wondering if someone could help me out with a few things.

1 – The images for the push buttons on TouchOSC that go into MaxMSP. I can’t find these or know how to code them in.

2 – A push towards the correct patches to use so when the user press a button on TouchOSC it plays a sound.

If anyone has made a similar patch or attempted it then please share with me how simple/hard it was. I’m a bit of a novice at MaxMSP so this is becoming a struggle lol

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
are you still working on it?

do you mean the push buttons on the second page from
the simple layout of touchOSC?
on:
http://hexler.net/software/touchosc
get the simple-send-and-receive.zip
from the max/msp part. There you can copy them into your own
patch.

And then you want to make the patch right?
starting with a button -> sampler thingy is
a good starting point. I suggest using groove~.
see the help for details about the object or
try this (copy paste to a new maxpatch):

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

good luck
