Traveler and systems output

I have a motu traveler and want to use it as an input device. I selected it inside the DSP status window as driver and input device. I selected the audio driver set up to select the output to be the apple build in audio headphone output. It does not work.
Anyone smart on this?

i think you have to choose same device for input and output.
or (on mac) you can do an agregate configuration in the audio midi
configuration.

As far as I know, If you want to use more than one device (i.e. the
traveller AND the built-in audio) you have to make an ‘aggregate
device’ within Audio MIDI Setup which contains them both. Then you
can access both devices.

Thanks for all of your thoughts!

I called a specialist selling Travelers and he told me to check on the Motu audio set up. There is a problem with the default setting.
There is the Traveler set up where the ‘optical output’ has to be set to ADAT.

I would have never found this without their help!!!

Thanks for your thoughts!

Do let us know what you think of this device once you have some experience with it, as we are considering a purchase.

Please and thanks,

The traveler has had many upgrades over the years and is now fully mature. I have no experience under X.5 but I guess it will work fine.

It has four inputs and 8 outputs. The inputs support 48v for condenser mics. The sound is good. I do not use their mixing facilities just in and out. I do not know how it compares in prises these days you might get the equivalent already cheaper…

But as far as I can say it is a mature product and has good tech support!
