triple- or more – state toggles

December 13, 2007 | 6:01 pm

hey there.
is it possible to have/make triple-state toggles with pictctrl?

eg. if off, its red and gives out a 0, clicked once turns green and gives out 1, if clicked twice turns yellow and gives out a 2, and if clicked again turns back to red and gives out a 0.

There is no standard object that does this, but you could build something with, say, LCD and some patching logic: track count of mouse downs and cycle through states changing color.

would that also out a value for every state?

i will use a counter and then pictctrl to have a dial that will change the given pict with every mousedown/value.

great.

thanks :)

You found a solution, but have a look at the matrixctrl object, which allows multiple states.
