Trying to cue my several patches for a Sax and Electronics piece

August 10, 2006 | 5:21 am

Hi,
I am currently working on a piece which is going to be 15 mins long. I have several patches and I am using the fiddle object for pitch tracking.
I am lost about combining these patches so that they change while I play the sax.
I am going to use different presets in these patches and I am also doing realtime recording-processing. Do you have a suggestion for me how to achieve this? I am new in this proactive composition with MAX/MSP.

a) I can use time , but I dont know howto and howto link them.
b) I could use score-following but detonate and suivi are extremely confusing me. etc.

I am lost and I really really need help.
Thanks
jj

It’ll be great if you send us more details on what you’re trying to
achieve…

Anyway, you’ll have to choose your interface for that : none = time,
manual = midi pedal, pitches + amplitude = analyzers…

Simply, the date object gives you the current time and if you made these
several patches before, you already know what to do with your time data ;)

You could also, if you prefer, count the time being played in order to
launch your next patch / preset at the appropriate time (after 10
minutes, 15 minutes, etc…). For this, use tie object too (more reliable).
