Two Quick and Easy Beginner Questions

June 11, 2008 | 4:31 pm

1. How is it that I get a umenu or ubumenu (what’s the difference exactly?) to display the proper options for whatever object its connected to? Say I have [metro] with a umenu/ubumenu connected to the right inlet, how do I have it say the menu’s options are 1nd, 1n, 1nt, etc etc?

2. How can I shrink the contents of a patch? I noticed with Max 4 patches I open in Max 5, everything is tinier and I find it much nicer than the size of things by default in Max 5. I tried using zoom but it seemed to only let me zoom in.

Thanks for any help!

umenu and ubumenu have been merged in Max 5. To edits the menu items,
open the inspector and click on the edit button next to Menu Items.
Write items, separated by comas.

Did you try "Zoom out" in the View menu? You can also make the changes
persistent by using the Edit->Scale feature.
