could anyone explain to me how the various udp receive objects differ?

i have experienced some jvm crashes with mxj net.udp.recv and i wanted to replace it with either olaf matthes netreceive or max’s udpreceive.

I briefly tried interchanging the mxj for these objects a few days ago. I didn’t spend much time on it but i got some errors, i think due to the way the packets are formated.

thanks very much,

Could you provide more information about your crashes? Are you using the latest version of Max? There were some issues fixed in 5.0.6.

ah… thanks for the info. it’s part of a large patch for an installation, so it’s hard to provide an example. It has only crashed once after running for a week. A random audio file is chosen from a large library of sounds. perhaps there is a bad file in there somewhere
