I’m using a midi interface to change where a umenu object is reading from (a folder) and the menu filters for video files. It seems that If I switch between the different folders very quickly, or even perhaps before the menu is populated the system locks up. This is very annoying. Any workarounds? Perhaps a clever alternative object/routing to umenu? Note that I don’t want to ever even touch the menu manually, I am just using it to load video files.
does anyone have a good solution that works as such? I’m pulling my hair out over this! thanks!
midi interface—>video bank—->qt.movie
older versions of umenu did not like floating point numbers, thats all i can tell.
You could also calculate the load time (for arguments sake lets say its 500ms). Then on the input of the midi add
pipe 500 so the user cannot change the umenu for 500ms.
Sorry I ment speedlim not pipe
Best to post a simple patch and your OS/computer model/version of Max, so we can try to reproduce.
