I'm using two Unibrain Fire-I on Win XP (since in OS X the cameras just work partially, ie no full res or no full speed), so I'm using dx.grab (WinVdig and Abstract Plane Demo are not working either so can't use qt.grab).

Everything works fine with dx.grab, but the problem is, I can't communicate with the camera to initialize it to precise shutter speed, gain, ... as qt.grab does in IIDC.

Yes I'm actually using the Fire-I application to do the settings and the back to Max. It's boring but works fine.

I didn't notice that it can save presets, great.

If you're ok with it, how can I get your script? Mail?

About drivers I got in touch with Unibrain and Aupperle Services and Contracting. No driver will be done for OSX. Here's a paste of the mail. But I think it's possible to get the Unibrain SDK.

Apple did a sub standard job on their IIDC camera drivers. Since Apple no longer offer any IIDC camera products (iSight's are gone), they won't correct any of these sorts of issues.

No, we don't. We won't support FireWire IIDC Cameras via QuickTime because there is no market for such a product. Between Apple's incompetent driver and IOXperts driver, the Mac market share is so miniscule we'd go broke supporting it.

Fire-i works under OSX, but it's not fully supported. Slow rate or poor quality. I did not find any IOXperts UB driver..
