URGENT HELP! "hi" object not setting rate for movie

Hi everyone,

I need a little advice for a project I have due tomorrow. Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question.

I have a patcher with output from mouse movement (through the hi object) going into the “rate $1″ command of a imovie object in order to set the speed of the movie.

Unfortunately though, the movie’s speed only changes when I’ve stopped moving the mouse, not during. I’m planning to strap the mouse to a car and have this change the speed, so it’s no good at all.

If anyone could help me that would be really greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Rupert

Put a [deferlow] or, better, a [jit.qball] in the path, e.g. after the [rate $1] message box

I tried that but the imovie box just goes blank now when the mouse moves.

Would it be better to use a jitter movie file?
