use of envelope…

Hi.
I’ve got a question (I’ll try to express myself a bit better): would it be possible to use the envelope parameters (adsr, for example) to modify an audio file or loop??
Thanks a lot.
Best wishes,
Oscar.

Hello

I am sorry but your post can be interpretated two ways :

- you can use the output of an envelope to control anything that can be controlled with a signal (for example, the frequency of cycle~) but you often need to do some value scaling
- you can connect the A, D, S, and R graphic user parameters (for example) to both an adsr~ and something else (in this case you may need some scaling too)

Also, what does that “modifying and audio file or loop” mean ?

my intention is to use a file of audio as a signal (cycle e.g) is it possible?

Yes. The object you want is called wave~. You might want to
spend a little time in the tutorials – MSP Tutorial 15, to
be precise. This is pretty basic stuff, which is why it’s in
the tutorials.
