Use two webcam in the same patch

Hi everybody,
I’m new here and in MaxMSP. I wanna use two webcam together in the same patch but I don’t know how to do it.
I use Windows and I’ve tried to duplicate the patch in the same patch, and with the “settings” message select in the first part the default camera and in the second the usb camera, but it doesn’t works….
SO my problems are:
1. How can I use two webcam in the same patch?
2. How can I choose the webcam?
3. If I conntect the usb webcam the patch automatically read it and no the default camera inside the computer. How cai I do if I want to use the pc camera?

Thank you all.

In order to use multiple web cams you have to use multiple instances of the associated Jitter objects, the process is very complex and requires some adjustments of your hardware settings. MaxMSP will read the devices individually provided they are set up in the correct fashion.

I suggest you review the [jit.dx.grab] object for more information. Also, if you copy elements of patches from the Jitter help files, aspects of them are copy protected and if duplicated will affect full functionality. You may notice this when you copy a patch and the new window containing the copy has no menu options or toolbar. The only real way around this is to gain a full understanding of the operation of each object, then construct your own.
