Using MBox audio inputs

There have been previous posts relating to a similar issue, but none with the solution to my problem, which might just be a simple oversight on my part.

Anyone using MBox (original) with Max 5? The output works fine, but all I get is hiss from the inputs and nothing at all from various guitars and microphones I’ve tried. I don’t have this problem with ProTools LE 7.1.1 or Ableton Live 6.0.7.

OSX 10.4.11
MaxMSP 5.0.4
Digital CoreAudio Manager 7.1.1

Any help appreciated.

Did you check the correct input? (analog or digital). And did you check
if the clock is set to “internal”? It used to be necessary to fire up
ProTools to change it or even to find out which is selected…
You can of course also provide an external clock instead…

Thanks

There seems to be a compatibility issue with CoreAudio 7.1 and Max 5. Upgrading to CoreAudio 7.4 has solved the problem.
