Using train~ in a weird way

Hi all, I’m trying to get grain.pulse~ to output a grain only when I tell it
to. I tried just sending a 0-1 signal to it but it didnt work.
Grain.pulse~ only seems to want to output when it receives a train~ signal.
However, train is basically a metronome. How can I force train to only
output when I want it to?

that’s weird; here using a [toggle]->[sig~]->[grain.pulse~] along with
the rest of the help file works just fine.

Hi Nic. Tell me a bit more about your set up and perhaps I can
help. Version/platform/sysconfig/etc? Also if you could track down
the external file and tell me the mod date, it would help.

If I understand you correctly, you are try to feed it a rhythmic
pattern instead of a constant pulse a la Greequaincer from Hipno?

Hello, thanks for the responses. Sorry it took me a while to reply, I dont
have internet on my max computer… Toggle into sig~ works, as does
stefan’s bit for train, albeit differently. Thank you for the replies.
