Version 1.6.2 crashes with latest java RE

December 26, 2006 | 7:51 pm

I found that using the latest version of Java RE (i.e. version 6) Max 4.6.2 + Jitter 1.6.2 crashes…
Now I rolled back to version 5 update 10.

Sorry, but you’ll need to give more information if you’d like some help.

HW, OS version, steps to reproduce, crash log etc.

Bug reporting guidelines included below for your reference.

BUG REPORTING GUIDELINES

Please report any problems you experience with clear and complete
information, including steps to reproduce, software and system
information, and where possible, an isolated example patch and crash
log. Something like the following would be ideal. This makes it
easier for us to find and fix the problems you experience. Without
such clear and complete information, it is less likely we will be
able to.

Summary:
Provide a descriptive summary of the issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
In numbered format, detail the exact steps taken to produce the bug.

Expected Results:
Describe what you expected to happen when you executed the steps above.

Actual Results:
Please explain what actually occurred when steps above are executed.

Regression:
Describe circumstances where the problem occurs or does not occur,
such as software versions and/or hardware configurations.

Notes:
Provide additional information, such as references to related
problems, workarounds and relevant attachments.

i had the same behaviour (crash on startup) on a pc running xp mce after upgrading to java 6. changing my jvm options to:

max.jvm.option -Xincgc
max.jvm.option -Xms32m
max.jvm.option -Xmx512m

fixed the crash.

BTW I’ll try to adhere to the bug report guidelines:

Summary:
After having installed Java RE version 6 on a Win XP SP2 machine Max 4.6.2 + Jitter 1.6.2 crashes while loading.

Steps to Reproduce:
Install Java RE version 6 on a Win XP SP2 machine with Max 4.6.2 + Jitter 1.6.2

Expected Results:
Max 4.6.2 + Jitter 1.6.2 should crash while loading.

Actual Results:
Max 4.6.2 + Jitter 1.6.2 crashes while loading.

Regression:
With Java RE 5 update 10 everything’s fine.

Notes:
