Video Camera for Jitter

Hi guys,

I’m currently participating in a course at my university to get my hands on MAX/MSP and I’m learning great stuff there.

Now we want to do Motion tracking and other fancy stuff with Jitter. We are currently looking for a video camera, that works best in MAX/MSP/Jitter (Mac OSX and Windows) and achieves great results for tracking and other video operations.
Can you recommend some special Models? (< 1500$ / 1000Euro)

Please tell me also about pricier models that can achieve much better results than some cheaper versions.

Maybe some HD Cameras from Sony, Canon or some other manufacturers?

I’ve read the article “Jitter Cameras” (http://www.cycling74.com/twiki/bin/view/FAQs/JitterCameras) and if I’m right, an uncompressed FireWire signal would be the best solution, right?

I hope you guys can help me solving that tricky question :-)

Thank you so much for your help!

Best regards from Germany
Dominik

I would recommend you to take a look at http://www.unibrain.com
The think is about this cameras that you can put different kind of lances (c,cs mount), take away IR filter, hook more then one iidc camera on computer, image quality….
I own several Fire-i board Pro XGAc and I’m more then satisfied whit this product.
Hope that helps.
