My simple questions are: (Macbook pro 2011)

1. If Thunderbolt is sooo fast, and can transmit AND receive data, then why are video capture cards even necessary?

2. Is there any way to monitor incoming thunderbolt data, whether it be with Max or something else? (more specifically - HDMI data)
