video capture, write to "playlist", auto playback files while capturing more….

February 16, 2010 | 2:02 pm

greetings max users,

semi-noob here.

I would like to create a system which uses jit.qt.grab to capture about 5-10 seconds of video which I will manually bang to record. then saves and plays back that video file automatically. I want the saved movie files to be added to a kind of "playlist" that are played back and looped as more captured video gets added to the "playlist".

my plan is to feed the videos being played back in to the matrixset and time manipulate them. what I need to figure out is how to save and add the files and get them to playback and replay in a kind of "playlist".

can umenu be used as a playlist?

below is what I have going so far.

I hope my terminology makes sense. any assistance, tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

regards

umenu or coll might be a solution.

and maybe autopopulate?

but I want to have the movie files play one after another and the list loop as more videos get captured.

so this is what I’ve come up w/ so far. perhaps not the cleanest job and there might be some things on there that and are not used properly or are not needed.

still trying to figure a way to get the movies on the umenu (playlist) to play one after another as video files are captured in realtime and written to the project directory.

any tips or suggestions on how to improve this patch are welcomed. -:)

Hi Aleat,

I know it’s been a while since your posy, but I would like to have a look at your patch as I’m trying to do something similar. Can’t open your patch though, although I have got Max5 installed on my computer. Would you mind posting it to again or emailing it to me?

Cheers!
