hello all,
in want to record a video linking with a firewire a computer with
jitter to a computer with final cut pro. i’m trying to export a matrix
by
firewire with jit.qt.videout to Final Cut Pro, but when i try to open
the output component and create an output instance the object fails.
Also if i try to see the output from the FCP "Log and capture" dialog
says that it cannot find any device.
Any tip???
please helpme!!
/mat

I don’t have the possibility to check with jitter stuff out atm, but if
you manage to set it up in jitter correctly here’s what’s needed for FCP:

You need to setup FCP to work with a non-controllable device.
You can do this in your log and capture window, this setting will ghost
the ‘clip’ and ‘batch’ options and only leave you with the capture now
option. (+ a contiuously running timecode)

thank you brecht,
your FCP tip seems to work but i cannot output nothing from
the jit.qt.videoout, when i try to open the connection with the
"open" message it fails. I’m using the Apple Firewire PAL voc,
when i plug the FW cable in a camcorder it works but if i plug
in a machine with FCP it fails :( …
anyone on the list had this issues before?
thanx,
mat.

Hi Mat,

I’ve sent you a mail on your personal account, but maybe it got caught in
the spamfilter. I suggested you tried sending the messages voc vocmode
with an int as argument and run through some possibilities…that’s the
only silly idea I can come up with.
I guess the problem is that a mac connected through firewire is not
detected as a device…
