Hello, I need a warping effect or tool in Max or Ableton that would enable me to change aspects of an audio file over time from within a max patch, such as overall pitch or perhaps sonic aspects of the file. for example at some points within the clip, I may want to raise the pitch a semi-tone according to some profile curve (so it ramps up smoothly)..- or lower it at another point.
Any suggestions ?
You can use live.object to control the pitch of an audio clip, that’s one easy way to do it, so you can take advantage of Live’s built in pitch shifting. You could also make your own pitch shifting device in M4L and run audio through it, but that would be a bit more of an undertaking.
…any maxforlive audio effect device that is set up for automation in Live can do this.
In fact, raising or lowering the pitch of a clip can be done without even using effects at all, that’s built right into live, as Evan said, and if you’re programming a curve for it you don’t even need live.object, you can use straight vanilla Live.
